Lofotfjord was established in 2006 under the name of Lofotcruise. In January 2007, the company changed its name to Lofotfjord.

The company is owned by Leif Andorsen, Svein M. Markussen and Bjørn I. Jakobsen. Bjørn has been working with chartered boat trips for 12 years.

All of the owners have maritime qualifications and long-standing experience at sea.
